SUTHERLAND Dies of Asphyxiation ------------- Anderson Man, 25, Found In Fatal State In Columbia Room, Columbia, S.C. -------- Anderson, Nov 29 --Funeral services for Louie Sutherland, 25, who died yesterday afternoon at the home of a sister in Columbia, as a result of asphyxiation, were held at 4 o'clock this afternoon at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.N. Sutherland, on East Orr Street.
Services conducted by Rev. R. L. Holroyd and interment followed in Silver Brook Cemetery.
Mr. Sutherland was found in a room of the home of his sister, Mrs. John C. Martin of Columbia. He was rushed to a hospital and all efforts made to save his life, but died shortly after being found.
Coroner J.A. Sargent announced that no further investigation would be made into the tragedy, as officials were satisfied that death was the results of asphyxiation.
Mr. Sutherland had been in Columbia for several days with his sister.
Besides his sister, he is survived by several brothers and sisters.
