J. Floyd Sutherland
Joseph Floyd Sutherland, 82, of 304 Alabama Ave., Greenwood, SC,
widower of Kathleen "Kitty" Doris George Sutherland, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 Augusta Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Augusta.

Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Arthur Weston and Mattie Ione Tyner Sutherland. He was a 1939 graduate of Welcome High School in Greenville and a World War II Army veteran. He retired, after 45 years, from Greenwood Mills Mathews Plant. A member of South Greenwood Pentecostal Holiness Church, he was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of Greenwood Mills Quarter Century Club and a former member of Greenwood Country Club, the Greenwood Community Choir and the Emerald City Quartet.
Survivors include four sons, Arthur M. "Art" Sutherland of Greenwood, J. Myron Sutherland of Hoover, Ala., Danny Ray Sutherland of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Anthony P. Sutherland of Durham, N.C.; three daughters, Annette S. Bostic of Greenville, Donna S. Dolphin of Greenwood and Gwynne S. Capps of Ninety Six; a brother, Ansel C. Sutherland of Resaca, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Blyth Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. James F. Young. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Richard Bostic, Aaron Capps, Jones Sutherland, George Sutherland, Joshua Sutherland, Jesse Sutherland, Jamie Sutherland, Jerry Parnell, J.J. Hudson, Russell Patterson and Joshua Walker.
Visitation is 7-9 Thursday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home and at the home of Art and Judy Sutherland, 108 Kennedy Court, Greenwood, SC
