The Rev. C.H. Sutherland
Laurens
The Rev. C.H. Sutherland, 91, of National Health Care Center in Laurens, went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ Nov. 19, 2003.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Aileen K. Sutherland.
The Rev. Sutherland was a Southern Baptist minister for seventy years. He pastored churches in Georgia, Kentucky, and primarily in South Carolina. He retired from Enoree Baptist Church in Travelers Rest in 1977.
He is survived by a son, Harold Rodney Sutherland Sr., of Seneca; three daughters, Phyllis S. Metz, of Laurens, Judith S. Porter, of Etowah, N.C., and Charlotte Rosemary Sutherland, of Laurens; seven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry Franklin and Josephine Dixon Sutherland; and nine brothers and sisters.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Lucas Avenue Baptist Church, with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville at 2:30 p.m.
The family will be at the home of a daughter: Phyllis S. Metz, 632 Tranquil Drive; and will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at The Kennedy Mortuary, Laurens.
