William Furman Patterson, Sr. age 88 passed away September 14, 2007, he was born May 11, 1919 in Iva, South Carolina, son of the late Daniel Nathaniel Patterson and Anne Bell Sutherland Patterson, also preceded in death by wife Lylton H. Patterson, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Mr. Patterson was  a WWII National Guard/ Navy veteran  and retired from retail sales and attended Grace Baptist Church he had a hobby of Genealogical research which evolved into full time work.

Survived by Sons and daughters in law William “Bill” and Mary Patterson, Jr. Acworth, Ga. Kenneth “Gene” and Miriam Patterson, Greenville, SC. Don and Charlene Patterson, Greenville S.C. Mark and Betty  Patterson , Taylors, SC. Daughter and son in law  Donna and Vince Selle, Blue Ridge, Ga., and her mother Ronia  Patterson, Blue Ridge, Ga. Brother and sister in law Cecil and Marie Patterson, Greenville, SC. Sister and brother in law Edna P. and Jewell Saxon, Greenwood, SC. 13 Grandchildren 23 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Nephew Robert Patterson, Easley, SC., several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home Hiram, Ga. On Sunday September 16, 2007 from 2-4pm, and also on Monday, September 17, 2007 from 6-8pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home downtown chapel, Greenville, SC.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 3pm from Thomas McAfee downtown chapel, Greenville, SC. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC.  In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Missionaries through  Grace Baptist  International  Po Box 578 Powder Springs, GA 30127. or a charity of your choice.
