Ruth Collins, 95, of Hendersonville, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, in the Cordova Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Cordova, Tenn.
She was a native of Henderson County and a daughter of the late Rev. John B. Guice and Nettie Patterson Guice. She was the wife of the late William Feltz Collins Sr., with whom she was the owner of Collins Florist for 30 years. She had been an active member of the Hendersonville First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Collins Nolen and a son William Feltz Collins Jr.
She is survived by four grandsons, Bruce Collins of Memphis, Tenn., Brent Collins of Maryville, Tenn., Robert Nolen of Tokyo, Japan, and Scott Nolen of Wheaton, Ill.; four great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Kay Collins of Cordova, Tenn., a son-in-law, Harold Nolen of Hendersonville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Shepherd Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. Steve Scoggins. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service also in the mausoleum chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hendersonville First Baptist Church Building Fund, 312 Fifth Ave. West, Hendersonville, N.C. 28739.
