Edna B. Sitton, 82
Edna Ballard Sitton, 82, of Hendersonville, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, in Pardee Hospital.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County and was a daughter of the late Ulysses L. Ballard and Emily Osteen Ballard. She was the wife of Cleatues E. Sitton, who died in 1985. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and attended Flat Rock High School.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Von Cannon, and a brother, Frank Ballard.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include two sons, James B. "Jim" Sitton and his wife Martha and Frankie Sitton and his wife Joan, all of Hendersonville; two daughters, Frances Bishop and Patricia Miller and her husband Horace, all of Hendersonville; two sisters, Lillian Morehead of Fair Hope, Ala., and Gladys Merkel of Dover, Del.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Ron Fousek officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors and at other times will be at 605 Old Spartanburg Road.
