Mitch Markham died in Greenville, where he and Roxie had lived more than 30 years. His body was at Mackey Mortuary until and during Funeral Service conducted by Rev. Sherman Patterson, cousin of Roxie Patterson Markham, and assisted by Rev. Jasper Kelly and Rev. E.B. Folster.
Survived by his wife Mrs. Roxie Markham; one son, Loran Markham; two daughters,
Mrs. J.B. Thompson and Mrs. H.G. Miller; four sisters, Mrs Hettie Blythe, Mrs. Ida Anders, Mrs Jess Davis and Mrs Vess Watson; and five grandchildren.
Mitch and Roxie grew up in NC. Mitch was North Carolina native, and moved to Henderson prior to their marriage and move to Greenville. Mitch was a carpenter by vocation, associated with Morris-McKoy building company of this city for a number of years. He was a member of Eden Holiness Church.
Pallbearers were nephews: Seldon Shipman, Otho Blythe, Harry Patterson, Houston Patterson, Eugene Patterson, Luther Stamey, Harley Watson and Alonzo Anders.
Honorary Escort: Jerome and James Wilson, John Wood, C.D. Gorman, L.T. Batson, Sr, J.T. Demsey, Will H. McCauley, I.L. Swett, Eddie Robbins and Earnest Brazle.
Service was at 3 pm and he was interred at Graceland Cemetery in Greenville.

General:
Mitch & Roxie, both born in NC, settled in Greenville, where all their children were born. He was a carpenter by vocation, and associated for years with Morris-McCoy Building Company of Greenville.
Rev. Sherman Patterson, first-cousin of Roxie, conducted the funeral at
Mackey Mortuary and he was interred at Graceland Cemetery.
He was survived by Roxie, his wife, one son, two daughters, four sisters:
Mrs. Hettie Blythe, Mrs. Ida Anders, Mrs. Jess Davis and Mrs. Vess Watson. Also five g-children and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins among the Patterson family, who thought very highly of him.
