Eula Osteen, 65, Henderson county native
Eula Mae Osteen, 65, of Green River Road, Route 1, Zirconia, died Wednesday, April 23, 1985, in Pardee after a long illness.
Born in Henderson County May 22, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Merida and Minnie Staton Bane.
Survivors include her husband, John Osteen; two sons, J.B. Osteen of Hendersonville and Blaine Osteen of Mills River, Three daughters, Carolyn King and Sherby Merchant, both of Flat Rock, Linda Bryson of San Diego, Calif.; her sister, Evelyn Bane of Brevard; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Green River Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Revs. Newell NcNahan and Lewis Staton will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors, where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to services.
