UG Patterson had finished "Boot Camp" Training and in "Service School" when he developed a Kidney problem. They brought him to Camp Peary hospital for the operation.
His brother Furman was in Boot Canp training there and
due to having four years training with the SC National Guards,
was assisting with training 'raw recriuts'. He was granted time to
stay at the hospital, and was there with 'UG' nearly a week..
