1. OBITUARY, Feb 22, 1939 in Clay County Gazette - 1939
Brazil, Ind., February 22, 1939 - Mrs. Elizabeth E. Waggoner, aged 96 years. One of the oldest residents of the county died at 1 o'clock this morning at the home of her son-in-law , George Jeffers, east of Cory. She was the widow of Eli Waggoner. The deceased was born in North Carolina, but her parents came to Clay county when she was a small child and settled near Brazil. For many years she had resided near Cory. She is survived by nine grand children and 15 great grandchildren. The body was taken to the Rentschler funeral home at Center Point and will be returned to the Jeffers home, where short services will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning. Interment at Deeter Cemetery.
