Magdalene was stationed near Washington and spent one week-end in New York, with her brother Furman and a friend, 'Johnny Nutt' from Georgia; who was also at Naval Receiving Station, NYC.
The three met at Jack Dempsey's on Braodway Friday afternoon and it was one attraction after another until 'times-up'
on Sunday evening. Members of the Glenn Miller Band had formed their own "Band" and about 5 of them were in NYC
There was also the famous David Rose Orchestra at their "Rose Room", The Ice Follies at "Ice Land" Restaurant, Perry Como
at Radio City, NY with several famous female vocalist, and we tried to make them all. We got a couple of hours sleep Sunday
am and up in time to catch the bus down Fifth Avenue and see the Easter Parade with all the "Hats" to admire. It was one
memorial week-end for all of us.


Perry Como and other famous vocalists - Famous bands at most all restruants, we went to -. We didn't miss many of them, just lost sleep.

She Painted scenery, animals and object in oil.for gifts.to friends
and familly. She was adept at Crochet and family members have many shawls, coverlets, and other items as gifts.
