Notes
Death Notes:
Death also listed Monroe Co, TN, could have died there and buried in Jackson Co NC.
General:
Two Brothers, Abraham and David Pickelsimer, were of German (or Dutch) descent, and were supposed to have emigrated from Germany to the U.S. about the beginning of the eighteenth century. They settled in Jackson County, NC, near the forks of the Tuckassee River, which place is today known as the Abe Orchard. We know very little of David, and have no record of his descendants. He was the younger brother, as Abraham was forced to whip him for a misdemeanor, which was a difficult task. Abraham was a blacksmith and gunsmith by trade, and made all the farm tools and implements for that section of the country. He lost the sight of one eye by a flying spark from his anvil.

Many persons are researching this family, and some have a different version. Dates
vary and are submitted to LDS Records (World Wide Records). Lots of info is duplicated with different dates (someone's mistake given to LDS). (Bill Patterson, Sr)
When Nellie Pickelsimer Johnson died, Abraham, son Abram Jr., and her two sons
Electa 8 and George 6, moved from Tuckasejah, Macon County NC (formed 1828), about 1855 to (Dist 1029) Hot House District, Fannin County, Georgia, which was formed from Union County, and descendants migrated to Tennessee, after 1870.
He was listed 1860 census with Electa, age 8, and George age 6. Abraham died 1861. Some say he died in Monroe County, Tennessee, but not verified..
Descendants of his and Henry born 1821, son of David's, went to Monroe Co, TN.
Henry, brother of Abraham and David, was in Kentucky (research on-going) and
some of his descendants also came to Monroe Co. TN. (not much info of Kentucky).

Picklesimer families in Murphy, Cherokee Co, NC were only a few miles from those
in Skeinak?Sheinah, Fannin Co, Georgia. Those in Kentucky and Tennessee are
about as close to Fannin Co., as to Asheville.
