Notes
General:
The Pickelsimer family immigrated in the 1600's, looking for religious freedom, a place to open their Bible without fear. Also the opportunity to own property where they don't have to share-crop. (Give up half of what;s grown.)
They settled in Virginia for a hundrded years, then, when the Cherokee Indians gave-up land for Pendleton District, South Carolina, Henry migrated. He married in SC to Elizabeth Biffle, and also married another Elizabeth, surname unknown. He married a third time to Sally Renfrow, who gave him Henry, Jr. 1795. He had five known children, three that were researched.
Abraham and David went to Western North Carolina. Records show the family bought land in Buncombe Co, NC 1810. This property was later surveyed into Haywood Co, NC.
David wanted to be on his own, so migrated to Union County Georgia, abt 1845,
and his property surveyed into Fannin Co.
Henry, Jr. migrated to Kentucky, and some descendants returned to Tennessee.
Census Floyd Co, Ky 1850 listed James and Mary, both born 1818 Kentucky.
This family researched found (a) Abraham Adam Picklesimer, born June 4, 1775,
Virginia (right age for brother of Henry, who went to SC) died 11 Oct 1828 Floyd Co, KY. Abraham A. married Elizabeth "Betsy" Prater on 29 July 1800 Franklin Co, Virginia. He Had 7 known children, first John born Gallia, Ohio, and others in Floyd Co, KY, incl Thomas, born 1805, died Dec 1838 Floyd Co, KY and David born 22

We have all the info of these families on file, but not in data base, until we get the
verified information.
In 1900's, descendants of the three brothers were found in Monroe Co, Tennessee.
They employed their skills at "Building Wagons","Blacksmith, and Gunsmith". The mountains of Bavaria and Schwaben, Germany were numerous with Pickelsimers (Pichlmyer or Pitchelheimer) (Notes by Bill Patterson, Sr).
